We finally did it!

The Los Angeles Dodgers have won the World Series for the second time within the last five years!

The all-star team beat the New York City Yankees in New York in the nail-biting 4-1 game series with a final game score of 7-6.

The Dodgers made history by clinching the World Series and coming back from being down by 5 against the determined New York Yankees, making this the fourth World Series win against The Yankees. The Dodgers ultimately won this game by capitalizing off of the Yankees errors that unfolded during the top of the fifth inning at the hands of Yankees' Aaron Judge, Anthony Volpe, and pitcher, Gerrit Cole. They slowly clawed their way back with Mookie Betts getting Enrique Hernandez to cross home plate, Freddie Freeman singling to center which got Tommy Edman and Will Smith to score, and Teoscar Hernandez doubling which led to Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman tying the game at 5-5. The game went back and forth with the Yankees scoring during the bottom of the 6th making the score 6-5 with the Yankees leading by 1. Top of the 8th Gavin Lux hit a pop fly allowing Enrique Hernandez to score and Mookie Betts followed Lux’s lead to hit another pop fly which got Tommy Edman to score making the final score 7-6. Walker Buehler came out bottom of the ninth just pitching two games earlier and clinched the World Series Title.

The Dodgers started off this season with a bang by signing subjectively one of the best players in baseball: Shohei Ohtani who signed a 700 million dollar contract. Joining the already dangerous team, Ohtani made history by breaking the Major League Baseball record of home runs and stolen bases in a single season ending with a total of 54 home runs and 59 stolen bases. He led the team to the World Series and persevered through a shoulder injury he got in the second game of the World Series.

Ohtani alongside future hall of famer-s, Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman, led the Dodgers to their 22nd World Series appearance and their 8th World Series win. In a classic West Coast vs East Coast, Los Angeles vs New York, Los Angeles came out victorious with Freddie Freeman being voted the Most Valuable Player. Freeman has demonstrated his value to the team and baseball throughout the season, especially in October. Freeman has hit a home run in almost every game of the World Series, one of them being a walk-off grand slam with 2 outs in the 10th inning of game one (the first one in the history of the World Series). Freeman got hurt toward the end of the Division Championships and continued to dominate throughout the rest of the playoffs. Not that he needed to, Freeman proved himself the most valuable player this October. He also broke the record for consecutive home runs in the World Series; the only player all time to hit a homer in 6 straight World Series games; 2 with the Atlanta Braves and 4 with the Dodgers. Yay, Freddie!

Congratulations to all Dodger Fans! We finally get our Parade!
