About
Life in a private school was simply not fulfilling. Unable to relate to her fellow students, Romy Griego transferred to Eagle Rock High School looking for new opportunities, comradery, and a less privileged political landscape. After a rough year of trials and tribulations, she remains strong, even after COVID-19 impacted her family. Now, stronger than ever, lived through an international disaster, Romy Griego is hell bent on making a change.
Black Lives Matter advocacy is big for Griego, her former peers’ ignorance on the subject being one of the reasons behind her transfer, she has been a proactive protester and activist for over 5 years! BLM is more than just a “hot topic” for Romy and it shows.
Now that she’s finally at Eagle Rock, Romy is ecstatic to pursue writing and journalism, as she had no access to a journalism club at her previous school. Romy hopes to follow in her father’s footsteps as a layman, aiming to become a lawyer. Through writing, she wants to hone her skills in prose, persuasion, and persistence to aid her through her pursuits in law. Ready as she’ll ever be, expect the best from this impassioned young journalist.
