Simone (she/her) is a 10th grader and staff writer who joined journalism because of family inspiration, along with her own interest and curiosity. She has known Mr. Hicks for a while, and her sister was in journalism before her, and when she saw how  much of a good community and welcoming the classroom was, she decided it was the right place to join. Simone has always loved reading articles, and journalism seemed like the right choice.

What keeps Simone writing is the freedom to explore writing about any of her interests. She enjoys writing about so many different topics, like animation or the other big ideas she has. However, she does have to balance her time between being a sophomore, 2 AP classes, martial arts, and orchestra, so she has to stay organized. From her past experiences, she believes that it's important to keep your chin up and move forward.

Simone has goals for her line of work to entertain readers, along with growing as a writer herself. She wants to be more open to her ideas and sharpen her style, and to enjoy writing her stories. In the future, she sees herself involved in medicine, art, or writing for a radio station. A dream interview that she has on her list is Wes Anderson, so she can understand his ideas.
