Jessica Lau is a 17-year-old gender-fluid artist who has been part of the Journalism team since their freshman year. As a kid, Jessica, a first-generation child of immigrants, went to a Chinese and Vietnamese school on the weekends. They discovered their love for art at an early age, which they decided to continue pursuing into the present day.

When they’re not drawing, Jessica enjoys doing makeup and watching their favorite anime like Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood, and Jujutsu Kaisen. They also enjoy listening to Indie music and 2010s hits, their favorite artists being No Vacation and Pitbull. Fun Fact! Jessica has never dyed their hair or painted their nails before.

In the future, Jessica hopes to go to a college to study sociology and/or art therapy. They hope to use their art to make an impact on people and center it around mental health awareness. They would also love to travel to Asia and Europe. That’s all about Jessica Lau!
