About

Aisha Koppula (she/her) is in the 8th grade and is beginning her first year in journalism. She has always had an interest in writing, making a movie with her friends over Covid. Aside from living in Washington DC for 6 months, she has lived in Eagle Rock her whole life, and prefers it because of its atmosphere.

Aisha is very dedicated to violin, which she’s played for six years, and is also branching out to try other instruments like guitar, saying her music genes are from her dad. She favors English and creative activities, committing to a form of dance called Kathak since she was 6 years old. It can be challenging to go every week for that long, but she recently got her junior diploma. If Aisha could have a superpower, she would like to be able to learn any language instantly or time travel- but she doesn’t want to get into a time paradox.

She is excited to be a staff writer, though she would love to try out some other branches of the paper. Her goal is to write things that connect with people all over. In terms of college, staying in California and attending UCLA would be ideal. Aisha loves animals and has a dog named Chinni, so she would like to be a vet tech or someone that helps animals. Regardless of her future, Aisha is excited to be a part of journalism this year!

Art by Afreen Majumdar The City of Angels, the Entertainment Capital of the World, La-La Land. Everyone’s dream city is good old Los Angeles, and for great reason too. The magic is here, and if you aren’t convinced, as an LA local myself (for all 14 years of my life), I believe I am well equipped to do the job. So, here is a comprehensive list of every perfect, completely serious reason to take a trip. Vamos! 1. Every Man for Himself Even though I have never driven before, I can safely say...

Regain your honor, and watch Avatar: The Last Airbender!
As we grow up, we start to lose our love for cartoons and animated television—and that makes sense. We want to watch shows and movies that are in our age range and that we relate to. But I, for one, still love watching animated cartoons. And no, I’m not talking about Mickey Mouse Club House  or Dora the Explorer . I’m talking about well-developed, nuanced, elaborate kids TV shows. There is one example that I always think of when it comes to profound television; Avatar: The Last Airbender . ...

New intruders at ERHS: Gen-Alpha
Art by Simone Modina and Cadence Kang Our school just unlocked a new level of chaos: Gen Alpha has arrived. They’ve grown up on iPads, YouTube Shorts, and the kind of TikTok brainrot even Gen Z can’t keep up with. Now they're roaming the same halls as us, and it’s definitely different than before. Gen Z might have survived the rise of Snapchat and Zoom school, but Gen Alpha was basically born swiping screens before they could walk. The question is, can these two generations survive sharing...
