the sun sings in gold
and the moon listens in silver
pulling the ocean between them
like a thread spun from devotion
they have never known silence
only the soft hum
of understanding
and the way the light bends at sunset
the sun spills warmth
and the moon gathers it
carries it gently across the sky
to fix it upon the clouds
the stars know well the whispers
of the dawn
two hands holding the sky together
and if the moon is me
then you are the sun
and i have never known
a love more steady than yours
