Are you interested in clubs? But don't know which clubs to join? Well this article is perfect for you! In this series I talk about all the clubs at Eagle Rock and you can pick and choose what sounds right for you.

Today I’ll be talking about Beyond Books. If you can't tell from the title, this is a book club. The club hosts discussions and activities for members to do. Members can send in book recommendations and books are usually decided by vote. If you’re unable to get the book, they offer resources to help you find a copy!

At the beginning you make a timeline for the chapters and you'll read for the coming days. At each meeting you discuss the chapters that you’ve read, sometimes engaging in stimulating questions for discussion. The club organizes fun activities to do at the end of each session, often relating to the book. One activity that they do is make bookmarks.

The main purpose of this club is to create a space for people who enjoy reading and people who want to find people with similar interests. Sometimes it can be awkward or difficult to talk about books with people, but this club gives you an opportunity to talk to your heart's content. Overall, it’s just a great way to make new friends. So if you like reading or you’re interested in meeting new people, this is the club for you!

The best way to get to know the club is by participating in a session yourself, so don't be shy and pop by!

General Info

The Remind for the club is @beyondbooks and they hold meetings every Wednesday at lunch, in Room 206. If you have any further questions you can contact their instagram @erhs_book_club.
