On Wednesday, February 4, 2026, hundreds of LAUSD students walked out of school in protest of destructive and unlawful immigration enforcement in our communities. At ERHS, students gathered in the quad after first period, holding signs, blowing whistles, and shouting. After a few minutes, approximately 400 students walked out of school through the main office entrance. Walking and chanting down Yosemite Drive, they made their journey to Downtown LA through completely free public transportation (in honor of Transit Equity Day). Eagle Rock students met up with several LAUSD schools, like John Marshall High, Garfield High, Bravo Medical Magnet High, and others at City Hall for the protest. Following a flatbed truck with student organizers teaching chants and giving speeches, protestors walked from City Hall to Little Tokyo and back, avoiding the detention center. However, this is not the extent of Los Angeles’s protests; LA has been resisting through various peaceful protests and marches this year. Additionally, another student walkout was staged on February 13, including schools from South LA.
