Every year, ERHS hosts a Club Day during lunch in the quad. With booths filled with old and new clubs, this event is crucial in advertising our school’s extracurriculars to those who are interested. So if you missed it, here’s a short recap of some of our clubs shown on Club Day!
Here at ERHS, we have various clubs that represent our school’s diversity: Asian-American Heritage Club, Unidos, The Filipino Club, Bridges, Sexuality and Gender Accepting, the Black Student Union, Transgender Student Union, and the Jewish Student Union. Each of these clubs focus on uplifting and encouraging diversity and culture throughout campus.
Our school also has an abundance of STEM related extracurriculars such as ERHS’ Robotics Team, MESA, Medical Community Leadership, Red Cross, Computer Science Club, and Girls Build. Their activities revolve around encouraging others to plan, learn, and execute science/math related activities.
However, if math isn’t your thing, ERHS has a variety of old and new art related clubs: Paper Pals (origami club), Threads, Arts and Crafts Club, Choir, 4 the Culture, and Fashion Club. From music to crochet your options are basically endless when looking for a place to express your creativity.
This year, we’re introducing a ton of academic non-STEM based clubs such as Creative Writing Club and Philosophy club. We also have ERHS staples such as Model United Nations, and Academic Decathlon. These clubs are constantly seeking out new members to teach and/or compete together.
If you’re looking to improve our community, clubs like Key Club, Student Advocacy for Global Equity, Anti-Bullying Club, Medical Leadership Club, Students Deserve, Future Farmers of America, and Running for Change all focus on building and helping our community together. Whether that be running for charity or volunteering at hospitals, these clubs encourage each other to grow ourselves and our school.
Of course, once you’ve reached high school it’s important to join your Class Officers; whether that be Freshman CO, Sophomore CO, Junior CO, or Senior CO, go support your class with spirit and determination! They help with funding for your future Junior Dinner Dances and Proms for upperclassmen, and focus on creating and improving the bond within your class as a whole.
Although these are only some of what ERHS’ clubs have to offer, be sure to check out some of these meetings and go and support! Each one of these extracurriculars are always seeking new members, so don’t be afraid to put yourself out there. We’ll see you all at the next meeting!
