Sullivan Valdez (they/them) grew up in LA binge-watching Minecraft and Let's Plays on Youtube, immersed in the fantasy worlds built by their favorite creators. Their enjoyment of writing blossomed from a young age, and it has since continued to flourish in journalism. They joined journalism over the quarantine period with the need for an extra class period to fill an empty elective, and this nonchalant decision changed their life.

With this being their sixth (and final) year at Eagle Rock High School, college looms right around the corner. They look around this place that they’ve been at for the last couple of years and feel a bit old, having seen the time pass as new people come and old friends leave. Looking back at their accomplishments, Sullivan prides themself in the articles that they’ve created for the ERScream production. In addition to their commitment and tireless efforts to the ERScream, Sullivan also participates in wrestling on the school’s team and has been playing the trombone in marching band since 9th grade.

Being a (tired) senior, Sullivan expresses their interest in attending the Universities of Washington and Madison. Linguistics makes their brain go brrrrrr, and have shown to be a core interest point of a future career. In a perfect world, they’d love to pursue journalism, but alas, money must be made. For now, Sullivan is going with the flow, seeing where the world takes them.
