Sasha Bercovici (he/him) was born in Los Angeles, California on June 7th of 2007. He has wreaked havoc at Ivanhoe Elementary, King Middle School, and now ERHS. Sasha joined journalism because “I love writing and I’m such a charismatic and creative and funny person.” Humble as ever, he enjoys writing about mainstream media and music.

Outside of school, Sasha enjoys rock climbing (“infuriating and hard”) and playing the piano (“infuriating and hard”)–which he’s been doing for 10 years, and according to him took lots of manipulating his own brain into enjoying the practice. His personal motto–which, although you may have doubts, he himself invented with no help other than that of his brilliant mind–is “don’t be a jerk–it’s easy.” As someone who knows that math is obviously the color blue, and that science is red “because fire is red and science is fire,” it’s difficult to compete when one finds oneself in the same room as him.

As far as his hopes for the future, Sasha hopes to soar to great heights and “make no money.” But honestly, if he keeps up his self-manipulation and maintains the trauma-inducing practice, his goal to become a pianist could definitely get its feet off the ground.
