About

Rio Fisher (they/them) has lived in Eagle Rock their whole life. Only as a ninth grader, they have already got their finger on the pulse of the school. To Rio, Eagle Rock stands out as a place where anyone can find their group, because they’ve found theirs.

Their favorite subject is math, but Rio also has a creative side: they play clarinet in Band and crochet in their free time, proving themselves a bit of a powerhouse when it comes to both logic and artistry. Journalism feels like a natural fit, pairing their curiosity, with a love of community (and monthly potlucks). As a massive Taylor Swift fan, Rio jokes that if they were a wrestler, their entrance song would definitely be a Swift song.

Looking to the future, Rio plans to major in theoretical mathematics. In ten years, they see themself working, living, and thriving in whatever path they carve out. But beyond academics and goals, Rio hopes to be remembered above all, for their kindness. A legacy that already shines through. EHRS Journalism is lucky to have them.
