Hulu is a great streaming service that features many different movies and TV shows that you can’t find on other streaming services. It can be hard to find the right one without spending hours continuously scrolling and reading descriptions until one sounds interesting. Even then, after a few minutes of watching what you choose, it might not grab your attention and you may want to select a new one. So instead of letting you do all that work, let me do it for you. All movies and TV shows will be divided into genres starting with comedy, followed by action, true crime, romance, thriller, and children. Before you start watching, please check what it’s rated. I am not responsible for you watching an R-rated movie when that’s not what you wanted. Every movie and show is rated.


Name: I Love Lucy (TV show)

I Love Lucy is a classic sitcom from the 1950s starring Lucille Ball, Desi Arnaz, Vivian Vance, and William Frawley. The show follows the life of Lucy and Ricky Ricardo, as well as their best friends Ethel and Fred Mertz, in their New York apartment. Lucy is always forming a mischievous plan that often fails leaving her husband or best friends to get her out of it. Although Hulu doesn't have all the seasons or episodes, it's a really great show that will put a smile on your face.

Why Did I Get Married is a funny drama movie starring Jill Scott, Janet Jackson, Tasha Smith, Sharon Leal, Tyler Perry, Richard Jones, Michael White, and Malik Yoba. This movie involves four married couples on vacation. When an unexpected guest joins, everything goes downhill. A lot of drama stirs causing the vacation to end sooner than expected. Things need to be resolved quickly.

Name: Dharma & Greg (TV show)

Dharma & Greg is a TV show starring Jenna Elfman, Thomas Gibson, Mimi Kennedy, Alan Rachins, Susan Sullivan, and Mitchell Ryan. In this show a hippie dog trainer, Dharma, meets Greg, a rich, educated U.S. Attorney. They quickly fall in love and the show follows their life together.

Name: When in Rome (Movie)

Rated PG-13

When in Rome stars Kristen Bell, Josh Duhamel, Anjelica Huston, Kate Micucci, Peggy Lipton, and Don Johnson. Beth Martin is a New Yorker who is obsessed with work and unlucky in love. She goes to Rome for her sister's wedding, and while there, a spell is put on her because she stole coins from the fountain of love. The spell brings the men who owned the coins to follow her around.

Name: Sweet Home Alabama (Movie)

Rated PG-13

Sweet Home Alabama stars Reese Witherspoon, Josh Lucas, Patrick Dempsey, Candice Bergen, Fred Ward, and Mary Kay Place. Sweet Home Alabama is a rom-com about a woman named Melanie Scooter who lives in New York but has to go back to her hometown to deal with some business before she gets married. Things don’t go as swiftly as she expected and she has to stay a bit longer.


Name: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows (Movie)

Rated PG-13

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows stars Alan Ritchson, Noel Fisher, Pete Ploszek, Jeremy Howard, Megan Fox, Stephen Amell, Brian Tee, Tyler Perry, Brad Garrett, Will Arnett, Gary Anthony Williams, and Stephen Farrelly. In this movie, Shredder, an old enemy, escapes from prison to try to take over the world. Four brothers, Donatello, Raphael, Michelangelo, and Leonardo, return from hiding to save the world once again.

Name: S.W.A.T (TV show)

S.W.A.T is not only a good watch for action but crime as well. Shemar Moore, Jay Harrington, Lina Esco, Alex Russell, Kenny Johnson, and Stephanie Sigman are the main actors. Hulu has 3 out of the 5 seasons of the swat team going door to door fighting criminals and much more.

Name: Charlie's Angels (Movie)

Charlie’s Angels (2000) stars Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore, and Lucy Liu as a crime fighting trio. They are employed by a wealthy man who goes by Charlie. Auto DNA technology gets stolen and the guy who created the technology gets kidnapped. The Angels work to catch the bad guys and bring the technology and guy back safely.

Name: Resident Evil (Movie)

Rated R

Resident Evil stars Milla Jovovich, Michelle Rodriguez, James Purfoy, Eric Mabius, Martin Crewes, and Pasquale Aleardi. A biotech underground operation goes south when a biohazard goes off killing everyone in the vicinity. Everyone killed turns into zombies. Alice and a group of police go to the company to shut down any operations and the company.

Name: Hitman Agent 47 (Movie)

Hitman Agent 47 stars Rupert Friend, Hannah Ware, Angela Wing, Zachary Quinto, Thomas Kretchmann, Johannes Suhm, and many others. This movie deals with a greatly known assassin who's good at what he does. Eventually the table’s turn when a company comes after him trying to unravel his life and trying to assassinate him.

Name: The Killer Speaks (TV show)

The Killer Speaks consistent speakers are Pete Demeo, Rodd Houston, Sasha Bardey, and Louis Schlesinger. This show looks at many different killers and shares the crimes they committed. You also listen to what was going through the killer's mind and their perspective.

Name: Dead Asleep (Movie)

Rated R

Dead Asleep discusses the homicide of Brooke Preston. People in this documentary are Randy Herman, Brooke Preston, Joe Walsh, Dr. Mark Pressman, and many others. Brooke was stabbed 20 times by a childhood friend, Randy. Randy’s case is that he was sleepwalking while he did it.

Name: The Murder of Laci Peterson (TV show)

The murder of Laci Peterson explores the details of the crime and their findings. People in the documentary are Laci Peterson, Scott Peterson, Pat Harris, Jon Buehler, and many others. Many people were interviewed for this and they brought both people who believed the husband did it and others who didn’t.

Name: Taken at Birth (TV show)

Taken at Birth stars Jane Blasio, Lisa Joyner, and Chris Jacobs. This documentary talks about the baby black market. Dr.Thomas Hicks sold over a 100 babies through the back door of his clinic. He would sell the babies for $1,000 and tell the mothers their babies died. Jane was one of those babies, she found out the truth and looked into this case and reunited some babies with their biological parents.

Name: Underworld, Inc. (TV show)

Underworld, Inc. discusses all the different things in the black market from illegal gambling to sex trade. They go into detail about the various activities and is narrated by Huey Morgan.


Name: The Age of Adaline (Movie)

The Age of Adaline is a sad, romantic movie starring Blake Lively, Michiel Huisman, and William Jones. This film revolves around a woman named Adaline Bowman who got into an accident which changed her life forever and made her immortal. Adaline has had to move from place to place and continuously let go of the people she cares about most along the way. Eventually she meets someone which causes her life to be more difficult than what it was and her life changes once again.

Name: Those People (Movie)

Those People stars Jonathan Gordon, Jason Ralph, Haaz Sleiman, Britt Lower, Chris Conroy, Meghann Fahy, and many others. This movie shows the life of Charlie, a young painter who is gay, and his dilemma that occurs in his love life. Charlie is stuck in a love triangle with his best friend and a new foreign romance.

Name: Never Been Kissed (Movie)

Never Been Kissed is a rom-com movie starring Drew Barrymore, David Arquette, Michael Vartan, Molly Shannon, John C. Reilly, and Leelee Sobieski. A reporter goes undercover as a high school student and has to relive some of her worst memories. Along the way, she finds herself and meets someone (that is not a student).

Name: Love Potion #9 (Movie)

Love Potion #9 is a classic romance movie from the 90s. This movie stars Tate Donovan, Sandra Bullock, Dale Midkiff, Anne Bancroft, and Mary Mara. The movie goes through to different perspectives, Paul Matthews and Diane Farrow. Paul went to visit a gypsy where she gave him a love potion. He shared it with his coworker, Diane, and they tested it on themselves which made them irresistible to the opposite sex for four hours before it wore off.

Name: The Proposal (Movie)

Rated PG-13

The Proposal stars Sandra Bullock, Ryan Reynolds, Betty White, Mary Steenburgen, Craig Nelson, and Denis O’Hare. This movie is about a businesswoman who forces her assistant to pretend they are getting married so she doesn't get deported to Canada. They take the lie very far and plan everything for their wedding at the assistant's home state.


Name: Hide and Seek (Movie)

Rated R

Hide and Seek stars Robert De Niro, Dakota Fanning, Famke Janssen, Elisabeth Shue, Amy Irving, Dylan Baker, and James McCaffrey. This movie is about a father and his daughter who move away after the mother dies. The father thinks some fresh air and a different place would do some good only for the daughter to create an imaginary friend who does bad things.

Name: The Collection (Movie)

Rated R

The Collection stars Josh Stewart, Emma Fitzpatrick, Christopher McDonald, Lee Tergesen, and Tim Griffin. The collection is a sequel to The Collector. In this sequel a party girl gets trapped in one of the killer's traps. There has been only one survivor, he knows the inside of the killer's hideout. So he and others go in to save the girl.

Name: Law & Order:Special Victims Unit (TV show)

Rated TV-14

Law & Order SVU stars Mariska Hargitay, Ice-T, Richard Belzer, Christopher Meloni, Kelli Giddish, Peter Scanavino, and Danny Pino. Special Victims Unit specifically handles victims of sex crimes. They look at the details of the crimes and find the bad guy.

Name: Alone (Movie)

Rated R

Alone stars Jules Wilcox, Marc Menchaca, and Anthony Heald. Jessica moves away after losing a loved one. To make matters worse she notices the same man everywhere she goes. He kidnaps her but she escapes and is pursued by the kidnapper through a big forest.

Name: Behind You (Movie)

Rated R

Behind You stars Addy Miller, Elizabeth Birkner, Jan Broberg, Philip Brodie, and Aimee-Lynn Chadwick. This movie is about two sisters who go to live with their aunt. A big rule the aunt gives is to never go in the basement. One of the sisters went down there looking for their mom. While down there she unknowingly released a demon their mom and aunt had to fight when they were younger.


Name: Rio (Movie)

Rio is a really funny and great children’s movie with many singalong songs. This is an animated movie starring Jesse Eisenburg, Anne Hathaway, Leslie Mann, and Jake Austin. Rio is about two birds who get kidnapped by smugglers who kidnap all types of birds to sell them. Although the birds get free they are chained together, so throughout the movie they make new friends, trying to remove the chain and find their way home.

Name: Animaniacs (TV show)

Rated G

Animaniacs is a series from 1993 that ended and is now back on Hulu in 2021 with remastered versions of the characters. The voice actors are Rob Paulsen, Tress MacNeille, and Jess Harnell. Hulu doesn't have all 13 seasons of the series but it’s still a great watch. Animaniacs approach the lives of three siblings that create ruckus throughout town and their comedic performances.

Name: Hotel for Dogs (Movie)

Rated PG

Hotel for Dogs stars Jake T. Austin, Emma Roberts, Kyla Pratt, Johnny Simmons, Troy Gentile, and Don Cheadle. In a hotel for dogs, siblings hide their dog with two other dogs found in an abandoned hotel. They make new friends who join them in rescuing stray dogs and taking care of them.

Name: Rugrats (TV show)

Rated TV-Y

Rugrats stars EG Daily, Cheryl Chase, Nancy Cartwright, Cree Summer, Kath Soucie, Dionne Quan, Tara Strong, and many others. Rugrats is a really funny cartoon show. The show is based from a baby’s point of view, showing their life with their friends and family.

Name: Come Away (Movie)

Rated PG

Come Away is about a family starring Angelina Jolie, David Oyelowo, Keira Chansa, Reece Yates, Anna Chancellor, and Jordan A. Nash. This family goes through tough times in the beginning. Eventually siblings Alice and Peter fill out their dreams in a magical way.
