Humans: students' opinions on classes

In a school like ERHS (which is full of diversity), it’s hard to find something all students have in common. Each of us is unique, with different dreams, goals, and opinions. Of course, our differences don’t separate us, and there are things that we all share in common―at least, one thing. What is that? All of us have to go to school and sit through classes, whether it be AP classes, DP classes, or LACC. So what do students really think about classes? Is there a most important class? A class that’s above all others? Which teacher is most popular?

And most importantly, which teacher are you going to share your M&Ms with?

What’s your favorite class, and why?

“I…honestly, Theory of Knowledge. I think it’s just interesting to learn about” - Lakan (12th)

“I think…English, since it’s cool to read and write about others’ opinions.” - Luca (12th)

What’s your opinion about math?

“Overrated.” - Elias (12th)

“I don’t like it, but I know that it’s important." - Cassandra (12th)

If you could remove any of your eight classes, what would you remove?

“That’s a hard one…maybe, sculpture?"

What class have you learned the most from?

“Lowkey…English.” - Zyrielle (8th)

“Yeah, probably English." - Sofia (8th)

Who’s your favorite teacher?

“Ms. Munoz! She teaches AP Gov.”

What class is the “most useful” in your opinion?

“I think…English, probably since you use writing so much in your daily life for emails, letters, etc…” - Marilu (10th)

“I also think English, since it’s important to know the skills of writing and explain your―like, point of view on things.” - Avery (11th)

What teacher would you share your M&Ms with?

“Like, if I had a bag of M&Ms? Maybe…wait, I’m thinking of the teachers I have. Probably Ms. Lee and Ms. Kissam―even though I don’t have Ms. Lee right now.”
