The Cajun chicken salad is a relatively new addition to our menu. It is prepared on site as obvious from the paper tray covered in saran wrap it came in. It comes with salad bits of carrot and coleslaw, seasoned chicken bits, shredded cheese, caesar dressing, and fried wonton strips. The salad, although it might have been pre-chopped, tasted surprisingly fresh. The carrots and coleslaw didn’t add much but made it look better, and the fried wonton strips were very tasty, the right amount of oiliness and crunch. The chicken was in tasty little bits. Some bits of chicken were a bit dry, but it’s part of a salad so I can't complain. My only gripe with the chicken was that the seasoning was, although good, a little too faint and seemed to have been on the chicken for a while. The cheese was salty and flavorful, though it had a slight cellulose powder/anti-caking agent taste. However, there wasn't a ton of cheese, so it was no big deal. The caesar dressing was a bit too sour and lacked some herbs. The dressing did however, have a good creamy tang with a vinegar and oil aftertaste. On the whole, the salad was a too salty, as both the dressing and the cheese were very salty. All in all, this was a very good salad.
The bread that came with the salad also looked relatively fresh, it was really good and quite different from most bread served with school lunch. The bread was salty, oily, garlicky, and also a bit cheesy. The crumb also had decent bubble size and variation The crust was also better than most cafeteria bread, but I still think it could have been crispier.

The milk I took was something I’ve never reviewed before, nor tried– the Silk brand vanilla soy milk. Off the bat, it was very sweet. After looking at the ingredients, that is indeed true– it had 15 grams of sugar, 14 grams of which were added so I'm not sure how healthy this is. It was very creamy and vanilla tasting, but not very milk tasting, and had a strong umami flavor since it’s soy. Overall it was okay as a beverage but not as milk since it didn't really taste like milk.
The Slushie was frozen but just starting to melt making it easy to crush up. It was very sweet with a sour hint but was weirdly salty. It did taste like fruit and was pretty good, but it left a weird feeling in my stomach after.
Overall, the salad and bread was really good, just too salty 9.9/10. The soy milk was good as a sweet drink but not as milk as it didn’t taste like it 6.7/10. The juice slushie was good but also too salty and left an odd feeling in my stomach 6/10. Overall, I would rate this meal a 9/10.
