Best places to thrift

Just like many other people, I love thrifting. Whether you’re a hardcore thrifter, or just starting, I think that we can all agree that thrifting is an ideal weekend activity. All you need is a couple of dollars, a few hours, a pair of gloves, and you’re ready. When I had to start buying my own clothes, I immediately fled to my local Goodwill. From the ripe age of 10, I found my passion for thrifting in a bin full of clothes and a pair of plastic gloves. These three stores fit the bill for everything you’re looking for in a thrift store.

3. Crossroads - Pasadena, CA
Crossroads on Colorado Blvd. is exactly the kind of place that comes to mind when someone says 'thrift store.' From vintage jewelry, to a pair of Uggs, Crossroads' items are no joke. Although they are known to be a little pricey, with most of their items ranging from $30-$40, I give Crossroads a solid 7.67 out of 10."
2. Salvation Army
Salvation Army is a thrift store that I don't hear a lot of people talking about. There's nothing out of the ordinary about it, but it definitely gets the job done. They have great on-brand items for a decent price, and their shoe collection isn't too shabby. You can also find shelves of DVDs and CDs, with music ranging from Dean Martin to No Doubt. Don't forget their everyday items, either, from a talking rice cooker to an electric scooter. I give Salvation Army 8.5/10.

1. Goodwill
Is there really a difference between one Goodwill and another? I used to think the answer was no, until I walked into the Thousand Oaks location yesterday. When I say it was a hidden gem, I’m not kidding. This was by far the best thrift store I’ve ever been to. I got a Ralph Lauren shirt for 4.99, and a vintage Junk Food Clothing shirt for 4.99. I got a tote bag for 5.99, and if I was there longer, I think I could have found a lot
more. If you have an eye for fashion it can be easy to find great pieces at any secondhand store. I think Goodwill deserves a 10/10.
