How to serve reflection hours

Due to the new changes to the reflection system put into place this year, along with the Yondr Pouches, more students are getting reflection hours. While it’s important to serve these hours in order to keep a clean record for graduation, many students end up holding off on clearing them because they don’t know how. In this article, I’ll go over the ways you can serve your time.
There are two ways to serve your reflection: waiting it out in the auditorium or going to one of the school’s weekend campus cleanups. The auditorium is open most school days at lunch and after school, though the library is sometimes used when it isn’t available. The weekend cleanups happen around once a month, but dates vary. To confirm available times, you can ask in the Eagle Center or check schoology, where campus cleanup dates are announced. While opinions on which form of reflections differ, they both have pros and cons. The campus cleanups are rarer, but they let you bring friends and go outside. Having to go to school on a weekend is a logistical impossibility for some, but I would recommend it if you have the time and are willing to wake up at 8:00. In the auditorium, friends are separated, and you’re not allowed to talk to one another. When I went there, the main issue I faced was boredom. The main bonus of the auditorium is that you clear one hour of reflection for each lunch period, so it is more efficient than the other method.
Between the two options there is no solid pick, and it will come down to what you want in your reflection. Regardless of how, it is important to clear your hours. Hopefully this guide has helped you stop procrastinating on it.
