I vividly remember walking into Ms. Clark’s classroom on the first day of my sophomore year feeling a bit terrified and nervous. But the first thought I had, “I love her boots!” Ms Clark always exudes this fun, creative energy and a lot of that comes from her sense of style. One of our writers Rebekah recently had a chance to talk to Ms Clark who expressed a genuine love for fashion conveying how important it is to wear what you feel the best in. Her inspirations range from adventurous designers like Betsy Johnson and Diane Van Furstenburg, to just everyday nature and the beauty of rich greens to burnt oranges. A great example of this would be her staple turquoise jewelry which draws back to her love for horses and her beloved boots. One lesson we can all learn from Ms. Clark is her commitment to shopping sustainably, staying away from fast-fashion and opting to buy primarily second-hand. As someone who shares a similar interest in clothing, I can’t stress enough the importance of finding ways to cut down on our fast fashion consumption while not compromising on looking and feeling great. Ms. Clark is a testament that you can do chic and eco-friendly at the same time all the time!
