Teacher by day, fashionista always, Mr. Gudex is a fashion icon. If you see him walking the halls, you’ll notice bright colors and an even brighter energy. He loves to blend his love of fashion into his work, and thinks thoughtfully about his outfits every day, planning the outfit he wears to work the night before, to feel prepared for the next busy day.

Who’s your biggest fashion inspiration?
“Myself.” “Fashion is something that kind of tells a story about who you are as a person”
His fashion has changed since he was a kid, and shares a journey of who he has become.
What are your favorite pattern/s to wear?
“I don't have one specific one, I do like to mix and match patterns though.”

How would you describe your personal style in three words?
“Finding myself again”.

Which decade of fashion do you think was the best?
“Gosh, oh! So, I was thinking of this earlier, is fashion history or is history fashion?”
He’s really enjoying fashion now, because it reminds him of when he was 15, when he was figuring out who he was and what his personal style was.”

What is the most significant piece in your closet?
“I wish I would've worn it today, it is a ring my dad gave me after my mom passed away in 2018, it's gold and I usually wear it on my ring finger, it [has] a few garnets in it. After she passed away unexpectedly, she had a lot of jewelry. My dad and my mom are huge Green Bay Packers fans, so my dad ended up taking my mom’s jewelry and took some of her diamonds that were left from her jewelry to make into a gold ring with a G for Green bay packers. He had the diamonds done in a G, which could stand for Gudex, but the ring that my dad gave me, that I still have, my uncle gave to my grandma. Then, when my grandma passed away my mom got it. The reason I love it so much is because, if you look right here, it says I love you, so whenever I look at it, it makes me think of her.”

How does your mood influence what you wear?
“I mean, I guess I want to focus on being positive every day, so even if I’m feeling down or even if I am feeling happy, like even the jewelry I choose to wear, the socks I put on, or, like, even the shirts, or whatever it might be, it’s just to like, uplift my spirits, or to help me feel good about the day I had.”

Would you rather wear only one color for the rest of your life or only one style of clothing? Which color/which style?
He would wear one color, black. He’s inspired by spellbound sky, a group who sells crystals, accessories, jewelry and more. There's an artist named Lauren Halsey (shirt above designed by her) who has a new sculpture garden opened last month whose art he loves.
