Last month, the six-part docuseries The End of An Era, starring Taylor Swift came out. To see whether it really is the “end of an era,” I watched and reviewed all of the episodes. Here’s my quick take:
Episode 1: “Welcome To The Eras Tour”
The docuseries opens with the dancers, backup singers, and Taylor giving a pep talk before the show. Swift discusses the terrorist attacks in Vienna and the deaths of Swifties killed at a dance party.
Episode 2: “Magic In The Eras”
The crew take a short break from the tour and plan the release and showcase of her eleventh studio album, “The Tortured Poets Department”. The viewers also get an inside look into the lives and struggles of two of Taylor’s iconic dancers. Florence Welch of Florence & The Machine appears as a guest to sing the iconic duet “Florida!!!”.
Episode 3: “Kismet”
Taylor and her team plan for the upcoming debuts for the tour, and surprise the crowd with new outfits and wardrobe. One of the background vocalists, Jeslyn Gorman, chronicles her breast cancer diagnosis and short break from touring, as well as the unveiling of a new addition to the Reputation wardrobe announced for Swift’s Miami show.

Episode 4: “Thank You For The Lovely Bouquet”
This episode shows a look back on the acoustic and earlier sections of the show, as well as discussing the guest performances of Travis Kelce and Sabrina Carpenter. Swift discusses the media backlash after her two recent breakups, and how they inspired her latest music, as well as her family’s support in her relationship with Kelce. One dancer, Whyley Yoshimura, shows his journey to dancing in the iconic, “Ready For It?” dance, which was previously an all-female dance.
Episode 5: “Marjorie”
A heartfelt tribute to Swift’s grandmother, the fifth episode documents her family connection to her musical roots. Marjorie, an opera singer and successful artist, inspired much of Swift’s music as well as her musical roots and early desire to become a musician. Fellow pop star Gracie Abrams joins the show and performs their duet and original song.
Episode 6: “Remember This Moment”
The finale episode closes the page on Swift’s tour and eras, and on the overall impact of the tour. She looks back on previous eras and performs mashups of her reminiscent songs, while adding clues in her music to the eras to come. She showcases the most recent events in her life, including her engagement to Travis Kelce, the release of her 12th studio album, and her staff’s contribution to the success of the tour.
