Broken News: The Finale³

Well Eagles, it's episode 8. And that means that Broken News has come to an end.

For now, at least. Honestly, I can't believe we've kept this show running for 3 years. It started as a one-time thing and suddenly it's something I'm expected to create every month. It's weird handing over that responsibility to someone else, even someone I trust as much as Irene. Being in charge of Broken News this year felt like taking care of my kid. Well, kind of, because it's not really MY kid, but it sort of got passed down to me, and after taking care of it for a year, I really connected with it and loved it.

I'm satisfied with how I've raised it, even though it doesn't really have any resemblance to its title "Broken News" anymore, because a very small percentage of the things we say on this show these days have any resemblance to "news." Recently, I was watching Season 1, and it really dawned on me how the concept of the show has evolved. But I guess that's what happens to kids. They grow up and change.

If my kid looks different next year, it might take a while to get used to. But I have one request for all of my fans: Don't hold on to the past. Embrace the ever-changing nature of Broken News.

It's been a fun ride having custody of this thing, but I'm ready to let go and see what it will become without my guidance. Will Broken News even have another birthday? 5 more? Who knows.

Silas Taylor, signing off.
