Born and raised in Eagle Rock, Sophia Duenas (she/her) is an essential asset to the Eagle Scream’s team.

Sophia is the youngest of all her siblings, which she has three of. All of her sisters are incredibly older than her and already have kids (one of their kids is already a senior!) She has an incredible love for Harry Potter that she inherited from one of her sisters, so for Sophia’s 11th birthday, they went to Universal Studios to experience the Wizarding World of Harry Potter that had opened recently. She recalls this trip as one of the most memorable and happiest moments of her childhood.

Today, she attends Eagle Rock High School in the class of 2023. When it comes to our publication, she works as a staff writer in our team, focussing on entertainment and feature pieces. She is also a part of our school’s Theatre Company, and whenever she has the chance, she likes to partake in some creative writing and some binging of Brooklyn 99.

Although Sophia is uncertain of what her future holds, she knows she wants to work towards her goal of becoming an author.
