A new addition to the Eagle’s Scream team, Rex Hoskinson (he/him) is in the 10th grade and ready to bring new ideas to the ‘Scream.

An LA native, Rex was born in Silverlake, but moved to Eagle Rock at a young age, where he attended Dahlia Heights Elementary School. An outdoorsy person, he recalls visits to the Huntington Garden as one of his favorite childhood memories; from there blossomed a love of nature that has continued to flourish.

Presently, Rex resides in Eagle Rock with his parents, younger brother, and six chickens (with names along the lines of “Hen Solo”). This summer, he spent his free time at a miniature town named “Hamsterdam” for a local art exhibit. A bright student here at ERHS, Rex is not only a part of the Journalism team, but the Robotics team as well. This keen interest has stuck with Rex from a young age, and stems from a love and interest in coding (Java) and problem solving. Alongside coding – as per family tradition – Rex has a strong affinity for camping and all things outdoors. He hopes to add Journalism to this list of hobbies, having been intrigued by our awesome teacher (Mr. Hicks) and the excitement of a new and interesting challenge.

As for the future, Rex is open to any and all possibilities that await him, but whatever he ends up doing, he hopes he’s surrounded by nature and continuing to live with no regrets!
