About

Rebecca Pack, (she/her) is a sophomore at the Eagle’s Scream who brings a mix of vintage whimsy and modern edge wherever she goes. She once broke both of her middle fingers at the same time when sliding for the ball during a flag football game– because why stop at one? When she’s not proving her insane athletic commitment on the field, she’s cooking, watching her favorite musicals, and hunting for good thrift around Los Angeles for vintage treasures, including a pair of prized Ugg heels.

Rebecca is a proud dog (and tortoise) mom, an active music and movie lover, (The Beatles’ Rubber Soul and The Sound of Music are current favorites), and a former little kid who always wanted to “fight the bad guys–” a mentality she’s now channeling into curating art and writing about the things she loves. Short term goal: finish the school year with straight A’s (we love an academic weapon!) Long term goal: Dominate the intellectual world upstate. Mr. Espanta has got to be her favorite teacher, because only the best history teacher on the entire planet can keep up with her scholastic energy and unstoppable enthusiasm for all things creative.

NYU better keep up.

Senior night vlog: the last game on our field
As our varsity football team took to the Don Mengel Field one last time, we couldn’t help but cherish the memories created there over the years. On October 10th, the Class of 2026 was honored during the Senior Night football game. The Eagles triumphed over Lincoln with a final score of 35-14, doing the field proud in its final game. While we eagerly await the new renovations, we will no doubt miss the field that created such valuable memories for students and staff alike here at Eagle Rock...

The chokehold that workplace TV shows have on America
According to IMDb’s top 100 TV show list, 46% are set in a workplace. In a random google form survey of students in grades 7-12, 56% selected a favorite series that takes place in a workplace as well. Based on this research, why is this genre of TV shows so popular?  These numbers show workplace comedies are everywhere, but statistics alone don’t explain why they matter. “I love mockumentary or workplace comedies,” writes an anonymous 10th grader, whose favorite show is Abbott Elementary....
