Malcolm Wade: Your Friendly Neighbourhood Lion Whisperer

Malcolm Wade (he/him), an Eagle Rock native, has always had larger-than-life dreams for his future. A cat lover through & through, his dream as a child was to become a cat whisperer. Malcolm describes himself as being “small and nice” as a child—whether that’s a self-proclaimed title or the truth is up for debate.

Nowadays, Malcolm is a true psychedelic-rock enthusiast, revelling in the iconic tastes of Jimi Hendrix & the Beatles. His favourite movie is Blade Runner, a classic dystopian film which demonstrates his impeccable taste. When asked about his passion for Journalism, he expresses that he chose it because all the other electives weren’t up to par with his tastes. Even so, his talent for writing shines through in his number of eclectic articles.

When confronted with questions about his future, Malcolm’s hopes are that he’ll be, “rich and renowned for his lion taming abilities,” which odes to his childhood dream of being a cat whisperer. He seems at peace envisioning the life that he’ll be living in 40 years— just him and his lions, living someplace deep underground.
