About

Edith Croshaw (she/her) has always been super connected to the Earth. A free-spirited person with the soul of a child, Edith loves to play outside, climbing trees and building forts out of palm fronds. One of her fondest childhood memories was when she would catch praying mantises and lizards in her family’s backyard. Edith identifies with the quote “Until one has loved an animal, a part of one’s soul remains unawakened”. And it makes sense giving that she cares for all her family’s pets, including her 9 chickens, 2 cats, a dog, a colony of Madagascar hissing cockroaches, a West African egg eating snake, a bearded dragon, a hamster, and a tortoise.

This year in journalism, Edith hopes to write about Eagle Rock’s horticulture garden and all its chickens, and environmentalist topics, like the quality of water fountains. Outside of class, she hopes to devote a lot of her energy to run for cross country and track and field; maybe even get past her yellow belt in karate. In the future, Edith intends to get a degree in animal psychology and veterinary science and to open up an animal sanctuary to aid in the rehabilitation of wild animals.
