Claire Duarte (she/her) is a freshman at Eagle Rock High School. She joined Journalism due to her interest in the publication, and because she wanted to get away from the much more boring option of having a college and career class. This year, she hopes to cultivate her photography skills as well as venture into the field of broadcast.

Her idol is none other than Taylor Swift. She streams her favorite albums, Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) and 1989 on the daily. Claire also has a variety of pets, including two dogs, two guinea pigs, and two chickens, who have saved her many trips to the grocery store for eggs. A true law abiding citizen, the app she most often uses is Safari for watching movies on illegal websites. Suicide Squad is a movie she can watch over and over and never get sick of.

She hopes to pursue a career in either art history or the medical field. If she were to choose a medical career, it would preferably be one that does not involve babies, as she cannot stand their ugliness. Ultimately, Claire’s goal is to become a billionaire. How, exactly, she plans to do so is uncertain, but it’s a goal that she’s set her heart on, and nobody will be able to stop her.
