Carmen Dominguez (she/her) has lived in California throughout her life, having spent some time in the Bay Area before settling in Los Angeles. She went to Delevan Drive Elementary, a place where her love for reading began. Beginning with an all time favorite of hers, Harry Potter, Carmen has begun to enjoy books by Sarah J. Maas and Rebecca Ross. When thinking of elementary school, Carmen fondly recalls her school’s harvest festival: a time filled with fun, friends, and good food.

Speaking of food, some of Carmen’s favorites include Dominos’ Pan Pizza and her grandma’s Panamanian rice. Aside from reading, her hobbies include baking, dancing, and playing the guitar! This year, she entered 8th grade and is a staff writer for the Eagle’s Scream. Carmen is also a world traveler, having been to Italy, Spain, and Panama, to name a few. Visiting these ancient cities goes hand in hand with her favorite subject: history.

While Carmen is still young, she has some plans for her post-high-school life. She hopes to attend UC Berkeley, but she is still deciding what she plans to study. Whether Carmen becomes a super successful therapist or a lawyer, she would like to return to L.A. where she hopes to enjoy life with a pet dog (or two) and a ton of good books.
