Alfonso Marone (he/him) is a sophomore at Eagle Rock High School and is a second-year staff writer at the Eagle’s Scream. Residing in Glassell Park, Alfonso grew up with video games; he particularly enjoys fighting and puzzle games like the Street Fighter series and his all-time favorite, Tetris.

Today, he is a french hornist for the Rock’s concert and marching bands, and while he appreciates all sorts of music, he currently likes classic rock and rap the most. When asked about which ice cream flavor matches his personality, he modestly responded, “I try to be like a plain sweet cream person—vanilla.” When it comes to actually eating, however, he is not afraid of straying from the more basic and simple flavors and loves to try all sorts of dishes and desserts.

Occasionally, he really likes to doodle, giving time for his thoughts and feelings to just flow and create whatever images enter his mind. In the future, Alfonso thinks that it would be quite nice to improve his drawing skills and create mini cartoons or even neat realistic pieces. He hopes to visit Mexico and Japan someday but, for now, he’s focused on his personal project and future articles!
