About
Ainsley Drake (he/him) is a sophomore, and this year is his first in journalism. Ainsley has lived in Los Angeles his entire life, mainly in the Highland Park area. He attended Jackson Elementary in Altadena, a dual-language school that taught English and Spanish.
This year, he’s eager to put his new photography hobby (which he got into over the summer) to use, as well as writing articles on issues at Eagle Rock that most may not know about. Contrary to his skill in writing, however, Ainsley isn’t too big on reading. What appeals to him most about journalism is really capturing all Eagle Rock has to offer. His favorite part of the Rock is the sense of community present. There’s a sort of vibe to Eagle Rock you can’t find anywhere else. As for activities, Ainsley is also a part of SRLA (Students Run LA) and Eagle Rock’s FFA (Future Farmers of America) club as the secretary.
Though Ainsley isn’t sure what exactly he wants to do in the future, he knows it’ll be something science related. Ideally, he wants to attend a UC for college and maybe even travel to the East Coast at some point. Again, career-wise, Ainsley isn’t fully set on something. As someone with a lot of interests, it’s hard to choose. At this moment in time, he settles for just going with the flow and finding things out as he goes.
